You decide to save up to get a laptop for your business, on getting it, you decide to buy a modem to enable you browse the internet with your laptop ,unfortunately you didn't budget for that.
You later discovered you can share data with your laptop to browse the internet,you swing into action by turning on your phone hot-spot.
However, your laptop was unable to connect with it after much hassle.
It could be annoying if you've ever had to go through the above scenario just make your hot-spot connect to your laptop Wi-Fi.
what could possibly be the cause?
3 things could be the reason why your Wi-Fi is not working and they are:
1. Wi-Fi card not driven
In other for some component on your laptop can work properly, you have to drive them with a their specific driver ,such parts include Bluetooth, speaker, USB 3.0, Wi-Fi adapter and many more.
If the Wi-Fi card is not driven, you will see a sign at the notification panel at the bottom of your sreen that looks like a box.
You can get a driver pack from any store closer to you or download your laptop Wi-Fi driver online to make it start working.

2. Bad Wi-Fi card
We all know that when something is bad, it will stop working until a replacement is made, same thing applies to your Wi-Fi adapter but before concluding that your Wi-Fi adapter is bad, you have to confirm this first.
3. Check your built-in device option
The built-in device option can be found in your laptop setup, this is where you can enable or disable any built-in option such as Wi-Fi, bluetooth ,modem device, audio, integrated camera, finger print and many more.
Sometimes loading default may reset it, but what if it doesn't?
Different models of laptop have their specific setup keys
HP set up = F10
Dell set up = F2
Whichever laptop brand you're using, there is always a notification either at the bottom left or right hand side of the screen.
Some laptop brand may require you hold down the "FN" on your keyboard while pressing the function key, they include Samsung, Lenovo, Acer.
How to enter system setup
Without entering the setup, you won't be able to perform the given instructions, and like I said earlier, each brand have it own setup keys.
When you put on your laptop, keep pressing the required function key until it take you to another window menu.
How to enable Wi-Fi in system configuration.
The built-in option is found in system configuration when you enter setup.
Some device require you use the navigation keys to move around.
Follow the step
1. Boot into setup
2. Locate system configuration and click enter.
3. Click on "Built-in device option"
4. Tick the box with "Embeded WLAN device".
5. Click on F10 ,then enter to save settings.
If you've driven your Wi-Fi adapter and it is not bad, your Wi-Fi will start working after following the above instructions.
Although using modem to browse is faster than using your mobile hot-spot.
However, you can save extra cash from spending much on buying a new modem or extra data plan to browse the net with your laptop, that's if you're not the type that download huge files online.
A lot of people have replace their Wi-Fi adapter thinking its not working again, not knowing the setting is not correct.
