4 Ways to Fix This Copy of Windows is not Genuine Error

If you're not using a purchase version of the Windows  Operating system, you will get the this copy of Windows is not genuine error within some few months of using it. 

When this error appears at the bottom right hand corner of your desktop screen, the desktop background will turn black, and you won't be able to set any custom wallpaper or take screen shots of your desktop. 

This article will show you how to remove this error, below are the list of four methods you can use to solve the problem. 

Method 1. Uninstalling KB971033 Update

If you're experiencing this error, there is a file that recognises your copy of Windows, such file comes with KB971033 update and removing the file will eliminate the issue, you have nothing to worry about, as it won't affect your PC. 

Step 1. Search for control panel, I believe you can find your way to this area on your PC. 

Step 2. To make things easier, change categories to small icons in other to view all the settings in control panel. 

Step 3. Locate windows update and click on it. 

Step 4. When it is open, click on installed updates to view the list of all updates installed on your PC. 

Step 5. Find KB971033 or use the search option to find it if you have a lot of items listed. 

Step 6. Right-click on it and select uninstall, click yes to finish to the process. Restart your PC when you're done, you will not find the error again.

Method 2.Using SLMGR –REARM Command 

If you're still experiencing the issue, you can also try this method.

Step 1.Open command prompt as an administrator, click the window button on your keyboard and type CMD into the search box.

 

Step 2. You will get command prompt, right click on it and select run as administrator. 

Step 3. Enter the following command into the CMD interface. 

SLMGR -REARM 

Should in case you get an error while rendering the SLMGR/REARM command, you can also try SLMGR/REARM. 

Step 4. Restart your PC when the whole process is done, you won't get the error again. 

Note : SLMGR  manages the Windows software license in your PC . While the REARM command, will  reset the license details.

Method 3. Deleting SLUI.EXE

Step 1. Open  file Explorer 

Step 2. Input C:\Windows\System32\ into the search bar. 

Step 3. Search for slui.exe and delete it, there is nothing to worry about, it won't cause any harm to your computer. 

Step 4. Restart your computer and the "this copy of Windows is not genuine" error will be gone. 

Method 4. Windows activator 

This is also one of the easiest way to fix the "this copy of Windows is not genuine"  error, all you have to do is download Windows KMSpico or activator or buy the CD from  the vendor closer to you. 

Step 1. Run the software 

Step 2. Disable your Internet connection and turn off your anti virus. 

Step 3. Click on activate button, and it will activate all Windows products installed on your PC.

• Windows 8.1 Core/Pro/Enterprise

Your Windows will be activated, restart your PC and the "this copy of Windows is not genuine" will be eliminated.

Temporarily deactivating your account will hide your profile, comments, photos and likes  until your reactivate your account by logging in again.

2. Click  the profile icon on the top right hand corner of the screen. 

3. Click on "Edit account" 

4. Scroll down the page to find the “Temporarily disable my account” link. 

5. Click on the link and a new window will open asking you reasons why you want to deactivate. 

6. Select any of the reasons from the drop down menu and input your password. 

7. After that, click on the read button with “Temporarily Disable Account.”

Delete instagram account parmanently 

If you've decided to delete your account, you can click on the remove account link here on any browser, you will have to log in to proceed. 

After successfully login, you'll have to choose any of the reasons in the drop-down menu, after selecting any of the reasons, input your password and and click on the “Temporarily Disable Account.” button to delete your account, once you hit the button, your account can not be recovered again.

 Unlike the temporarily deactivation, once you delete your account, your photos, videos, comments, likes, and followers will be remove permanently and also note that you won't be able to register with same username on instagram once you delete your account.

How to take screen shot on Windows 8(8.1)/10 using prtscn

While working on your PC, you must have come across something you'd like to take a screen shot of for references on your project or something you'd like to show your friends and family. 

Windows 8/10 have made it easier for users to take a snapshot of their PC screen and automatically save it to the screen shot folder of their picture library. 

This post is going to show you several ways you can take screen shot on Windows 8 /10 with the help of some keys on your keyboard. 

Taking screen shot on Windows 

1. Using window key + PrntScr. 

In other to take the full screen shot of desktop screen, simply hold the winkey+PrntScr key together, depending on the type of PC you're using you might consider pressing the combination of WinKey+Fn+PrntScr key together on the keyboard.

2. PrntScr on Windows 8 tablet /surface Pro tablet.

However, this does not stop you from taking  the screen shot of your screen. 

Simply hold down  the winkey + volume down button on the tablet simultaneously to capture the screen shot.

You can access the  screen shot in your pictures/screen shot folder.

 3. Using share charm 

On Windows 8.1 you can also take screen shot from the share charm.

The embedded application on Windows 8 allows you to share screen shot with someone, though it won't be save to your screen shot folder. 

All you have to do is open the charm bar and click on share. 

These are the easy methods you can use to take screen shot of your desktop windows 8/10, you don't need a 3rd-party app to enable you do this, unless you want more features which might prompt you to do so.

How to check if your smartphone is clone

There are lots of clone phones out there which is term as chinko in Nigeria and  coiled from the word China.

These phones are also known as fake, and if you're not careful you might get one without knowing.

In this post I'm going to show you how to check if the phone you're about to buy or probably using is a clone. 

Without wasting much time, simply dial the code *#06# ,on doing this a series of numbers with 35 at the beginning will appear on your phone screen, this numbers are called IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity)numbers with a total of 15 digits an example is "353655896312589"

If the numbers is more than or less than 15 digits , then the phone is fake. 

However, some clone phones comes with 15 digits IMEI numbers which might make it hard to detect, there is another way you can sort this out by simply heading to Imei.info ,input the imei numbers you copied into the box and click on "CHECK".

Once the system finish verifying, the phone information will be displayed and if it is different from what you have on your phone then your phone is clone. 

How to check a clone iPhone 

Note that the above method work on all device except on Apple phones, in other to check if your iPhone is clone ,go to Settings > General > About phone and copy out the serial number of the device then head to selfsolve ,and insert the serial number to check the phone warranty period, if you get a message saying “We're sorry, but this serial number is not valid. Please check your information and try again,” then it's likely your iPhone is clone.
