You decide to open a file on your phone but Android keep opening with another application ,this can be very annoying especially if you have a favorite app you open the file with.
well this could occur as a result of a wrong default app set to always open such file, this guide will show you how to change default setting of a particular app on your Android phone.
How default app works
The Android operating system uses a "implicit intent",basically if you decide to take a pic with your phone, the operating system will look for a particular app to get the work done ,however if there are more than one app with such functionality on your phone and no defualt is set, the andriod operating system will ask the user it prefer app to use.
How to set a default app.
When you begin a new activities ,like opening a new file type, if no option pop up that means you only have one app that can help execute the action or you've already set a default app for the activities.
Should it case you haven't set a default app, when the options to choose from in other to open the file you click pop up, a dialogue box will appear with “Only once” or “Always,” choose "Always" to set the app as default for the activity.
Doing this will automatically set the app as default app, whenever you open the file type, the default app will help you perform the action without the pop up dialogue box with app list.
How to clear default app settings
If you decide not to use the default app again you can easily change it.
Let's say you want to stop using Firefox as default app when you click on a link on whatsapp, and want to set google Chrome as your default browser app.
All you have to do is clear the default and choose a new default when you're prompt to choose a browser while opening a link on whatsapp.
What to do next.
Go to settings and scroll down to app, click on it and find the app Android is currently using as default.
Open to app and scroll down to launch by default option, you will see "you've choose to launch this app by default for some actions.
Click on the "CLEAR DEFAULT" box below it ,now go back to the activity you want to perform, click on it and a dialogue box will appear with the list of apps you can choose from, select your prefered app and click "Always".
Same procedure apply to when you want to change to a new Android launcher on your phone.

Note that this option will reset any app notification option,enable all disabled app and remove background data restrictions but no data will be lost.

1.Go to settings,and scroll down to app.
2. Select "app" and click on the 3 dot option at the top left had corner.
