Tecno w4 is the first ever smartphone from Tecno mobile to run on Android mashellow 6.0. it's hard to root the device as using apps like Vroot, king root, framaroot, root genius and other rooting apps seem to be unproductive.
In this post I'm going to show you how to root and change the imei of Tecno w4 .

how to root Tecno w4
>>Download SuperSU.zip and move it to the root of your folder (don't put in any folder)
>>Download Tecno w4 TWRP from the link above to a folder in your PC and extract the zip file.
>>Download the SP flash tool ,extract it and right click on it and select run as administrator.
>>Select scartterd loading and locate the folder where you keep the TWRP recovery and select the text file and allow it to load.

>>Now connect your USB cable to your PC, make sure you switch off your phone,click on download green arrow in the SP flash tool and connect the USB cable to your phone.
>>You will get a green mark sign if it's successful.

>>Unplug your phone and boot into recovery mode (holding volume up and power button simultaneously)
>>In TWRP mode,use the volume up or down button to move and power button to select.
Now select install zip from SD card ,move down to select the superSU.zip.
>>Allow it to install ,once it's done go back and select reboot decive.
To check if you're rooted, download root checker from Google Play Store ,run it and if you see a green msg then you're rooted.
How to change Tecno w4 imei
1.Download chamelephon.apk HERE
2.Open the app and grant superSU.
3.The first box is for SIM 1 IMEI while the second box is for SIM 2 IMEI.
4.Input the IMEI into the box you want to change and click apply IMEI's
5. A pop up box will ask if you want to confirm IMEI, click on the change button.
Restart your phone or simply put it in aeroplane mode for 10 seconds to allow the new IMEI appear, to check dial *#606# to check.
Note that after rooting your device, do now perform an OTA update so as not to get your device brick ,your device will lose it root privileged if you restore factory settings.
