MTN xtrabyte is a new service introduced by MTN to allow it's subscribers borrow data when they run out of data and pay back when they recharge.
The new service launched by MTN on 8th of August allow eligible active prepaid customer borrow data on credit.

This is a welcome development from MTN as a lot of smartphone users prefer to have data than airtime on their phone, you can now borrow airtime from "MTN xtra time" and also borrow data from "MTN xtrabyte".
How to check if you're eligible
Below are the criterials you must have in other to be eligible for this service.
1. Your SIM must be registered and activated.
2. Your number must be active on the network for at least 3 months.
3. Your main account balance must be between #0 to #12.
4. Dial *606# to check if you're eligible and select 1.
5. you can now borrow 10MB, 30MB, 100MB, 200MB, and 750MB.
6. The price equivalent will be deducted from your account balance when you recharge your SIM.
7. Note that borrowed data have the same expiring date as your normal data plan.
8. Also note that you won't be able to transfer the borrowed data to another MTN line.
9. Just like MTN xtra time, MTN will charge you 10% data on the borrowed data bundle.
