10 reasons your cell phone battery drains fast and how to save battery life.

Have your battery being draining faster recently?  It doesn't serve you as it use to when social networking, playing music ,watching videos or playing games? 
Then there is something really causing your battery to drain faster than it ought to, in this post i'm going to put you through on how to identify What's making your cell phone battery drain faster and how you can make it last long. 


1.Turn off GPS when not in use 
GPS happen to be a heavy battery drainner,when you're on a road trip and uses Google Map to navigate your trip it drains your battery faster, when you're not using navigation,swipe down to access quick settings and  turn off GPS. 
Also, some apps require location ,you can turn on battery saving mode when in use to reduce the baterry from dying  quickly  by going to settings >> Location >>Mode and select “Battery saving” ,you might be using more than one apps that requires location therefore using more battery by accessing the GPS,simply head to settings >>location>> to see the apps and how much battery percentage it takes and manually adjust the apps premission.

2. Screen brightness 
The brightness of your phone screen makes it drains your battery faster, since the display is always on it uses more battery in other to keep it awake,in other to reduce the amount of battery it takes, simply swipe down to access quick  settings ,and reduce the brightness level to the lowest .

3. Stop auto syncronysing 
When your phone is set to automatically synchronise with your gmail account, Skype, Microsoft account etc ,it continuously search for updates on your accounts ,even when your phone is idle ,it drains your battery fast. 
In other to disable auto synchronise ,if your mobile phone is running on Android 4.4.2 kitkat go to Settings > Data Usage > Menu > uncheck Auto-Sync Data.
For Android 5.0 lollipop, go to Settings > Accounts > Menu > Auto-Sync Data and uncheck the box.

4. Using free apps with Ads
There are apps that come with ads when you install them on your phone, they tend to pop up ads on your screen or when in use ,apps that comes with these  ads uses more battery power thereby making it to drain faster.
you can delete the ones you don't use often and turn on power saving mode when using. 

5. Poor network reception 
Your phone works twice as hard to maintain cellular connection and search often on frequent disconnection.
If you're in a bad network reception area, your mobile phone battery will drain fast , you have to switch to flight mode to reduce battery consumption. 

6. Bad charging habit 
A lot of us are fond of charging our mobile phone  till 100% and leaving it Unplugg on the wall socket,this tend to weaken the battery cell on the long run.
This might be strange but according to expert, your battery fares better within the range  40-80%,which means charging it to this percentage is the right choice. 

7. Screen time out 
You can save a bit of your cell phone battery life by reducing the time your phone remains idle by heading to settings>> display >> sleep and reduce the the minimum (10/15 seconds) 

8. stop vibration 
phone vibration consume a certain amount of battery percentage when in use, if your keyboard ,ringing tone ,whatsapp or any other apps in on vibration you can disable it to reduce battery consumption. 

9. occasionally let your battery die 
According to battery university, it suggest that you allow your battery to fully discharge once every three months to calibrate the battery in other to maintain it charging capacity. 

10. Facebook app 
If you're a lover of facebook and uses the facebook app, then let me break this news to you ,the facebook app is power hungry and uses a large of amount of your phone ram. 
Thanks to it background activities, it constantly refreshes even when it's idle. 
It is recommended that you uninstall the app and use the web version in other to maintain your cell phone battery life.
